The words ‘basement’ and ‘mailroom’ rarely convey images of fun and excitement, but that was precisely what we set out to do. Our client shared their plight: Their new mailroom, built in the middle of the building’s parking lot, risk becoming a depressing sight, affecting those who worked there, those who needed to fetch packages and those who parked there. In other words, nearly everyone.
We decided to go bold and playful, making it an opportunity for branding the building – and furthermore making it an easy find for those who needed to make their way there. We deconstructed elements of the brand and reimagined some iconic symbols in the style of the company. Given the harsh conditions (humidity, no A/C) we worked with manual painters and stencils.
